Happy Sunday!

Sunday, April 8, 2012

I hope everyone is enjoying the day whether you celebrate Easter, Passover or just Sunday! We had a great Easter excursion to visit family today.

Of course it was great to see my parents, aunt, uncle and cousins but I was most excited to meet Rutabaga! This little doll was born just yesterday and she couldn't be cuter. I'm calling her Rutabaga because my friend Connie from Missing Willow Farm named one of her recent lambs Yam and what's cuter than a lamb named after a root vegetable??

I don't have one of my own crafts to show off today so I want to brag about my Mom instead.

In addition to adorable lambs, my parents also have geese that lay nice big eggs. My Dad uses a special technique to clean out the insides without causing much damage to the outside of the shell. Then, my Mom paints them with flowers and seals them with varnish. Our Easter table was filled with about 50 of these beauties today. We all snagged a few to decorate our own tables tonight.

Here's one of the geese getting a special Easter treat (lettuce) from my little cousin.

I hope your day was filled with happies!

Gorgeous! How lucky you are to have met a new baby lamb yesterday too:) My Aunt always has a pair of sheep- and her name is Mary- and they actually do follow her all around as she weeds/ does this and that outside. Quite endearing.

What an adorable lamb! So cute! I admit I had to google to see what a rutabaga was, I assumed it must be an exotic vegetable... Then I realised it is not! It is what we call a Swede in the UK. :)

Ps) lovely egg painting - so detailed.

You make crafting look possible even for someone as "craft challenged" as me! Cute ideas!
